THCO is a dynamic, young-women-led
humanitarian and development NGO. Our leadership is defined by its deep local
roots and its commitment to international standards of protection and
peacebuilding. We are not just an aid provider; we are a strategic partner in
the Humanitarian-Peace Nexus.
We specialize in high-impact
interventions that address the root causes of tension between displaced
populations and host communities. Our standing is exemplified by our Tripartite
Partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and
the Refugees and Returnees Service (RRS). Together, we implement
community-based peacebuilding initiatives in the Tsore and Bambasi camps,
supporting thousands of Sudanese refugees who have fled the 2023 conflict in
Sudan.
Our Technical Expertise Includes:
- Inclusive Peacebuilding: We empower "Insider
Mediators" and youth "Peace Ambassadors" using a unique 3:1
female-to-male ratio to ensure women are at the head of every peace table.
- Protection & Social Cohesion: We bridge divides through joint
community initiatives, such as mixed-population football tournaments and
shared neighborhood cleaning campaigns.
- Nutritional & Educational Recovery: From our
"Feed and Nurture" project for IDP children to "Education
for All" in conflict-affected districts, we ensure that the right to
a future is never compromised.
- Rights-Based Advocacy: We work tirelessly to protect
the most vulnerable, including GBV survivors, war veterans, and people
with disabilities, ensuring they have access to both emergency aid and
long-term economic security.
